Atheism versus Agnosticism

Confused as to whether you are an atheist?

What really is the difference between Atheism and Agnosticism?

A great many people take on the label of being agnostic. They delve into the realms of agnosticism and henceforth, reject the atheism.

I am sure you know a few people that claim to fall under the branch of agnosticism. I know I do. They tell me that their agnosticism is far more reasonable, whilst atheism is absolute, not budging for anything.

Only recently, I was likened to a theist, in that my ways were too dogmatic, stubborn and ultimately indistinguishable from theism except in the minor details. Absolute rubbish! This is not a valid stance to adopt because it misrepresents or misunderstands everything involved: atheism, theism, agnosticism, and the nature of belief itself. It also happens to reinforce popular prejudice against atheists, does it not?
